The La-Mesa motel has a great old sign, but I have not been able to find out much about the history of the place. I'll keep digging.
Across the street form the Sun n' Sand motel is the Route 66 Restaurant of Santa Rosa. They must have some pretty regular customers, because my photo looks the same as many of the photos posted on the internet. Almost every photo has a white Lincoln Towncar, small black truck, and a yellow classic car parked out in front.
